    Hi there,
    I desperately need a script that allows the user to enter my flash site made in mx and if the new flash mx player is not installed in the browser, the user will be redirected to a nonflash site.

    I have used this script, but it doesn´t work:
    Code:
       <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">

        MM_FlashDispatch(
    	"html/index.html",
    	"6.0",
    	false, // don't require latest rev. of plug-in
    	"html/noflash.html",
    	!MM_FlashUserDemurred(),	// don't install if user said no once
    	"http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash",
    	"html/noflash.html",
    	false,
    	true // disable auto-install
        );

      </SCRIPT>
    Thanks,
    Thomas

    You can use this if you like. This is active X control and it will detect if they haev the approrate verson of flash on there computer to dislay the page. If not then it will ask them to download the newer player.

    objel classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,29,0" width="80" height="80"

    Hope this helps

    objel should be ogject with this in fromt of it < just need to be able to show you.

    detection problem

    I read somewhere yesterday that there are problems detecting flash using the Flash Deployment Kit in IE. It said if I remember correctly that it (IE on a PC) would try to load a blank .swf file instead of redirecting like it is supposed to. It also said that in IE on a mac it wouldn't work at all. I agree 100% that it doesn't work on a PC but it worked fine on a mac.
    Now here is my question. Can anyone direct me to an answer for detecting flash for IE on a PC? I was hoping if I could find the post again it would offer some answers.

    Thunderlips= Did you have any trouble with this script? I noticed the link you posted is to the Flash Detection script.

    Thanks in advance,
    Evie
