The triple octagon thing - just like the highersource music site. The colors and the backround all blurry with the geeometric shapes./ The top and bottom with the whole "appearing from your computer" thing.

Thesse are my opinions aversion, sorry if you don't like them.

not denying they're your opinions i just don't understand how any of the things you've stated above are linked to ripping off 2advanced and no other designer or company in the world.

do you know for a fact that this site didn't use octagons before highermusic (i guarantee you this site has been around longer)? do you know who used octogons first, was it 2advanced? No, and it doesn't matter because using octagons on a site is not ripping anyone off! Whether it's 2advanced or anyone!!

none of the things you've stated above are exclusive to 2advanced, none of the things above were first exhibited on 2advanced in the design world; and none of the things you've stated would ever rank as ripping someone off in my opinion and, unless i'm very much mistake, a legal opinion.

there's a huge world of design out there, just because 2advanced is one of the most popular sites and (in my opinion) one of the best, does't mean every design element is a reference to them, polygons or blurry backgrounds included!!


look at your fav site, studiocmd, look at those abstract grey pointy shapes in the background, looks exactly like an experiment johua davis did on praystation to me. Does that mean they're a rip off? no! does that mean studioccmd is less of a designer? no!

but you would never think that of studiocmd would you? it's only when people see something that vaguely relates to 2advanced that it sets of the special gland in the brain that secretes the words '2advanced rip off' into threads....

no designer is a island.

If we all work together on this we can get through this phase. Come on, everyone. Stop comparing it to 2Advanced. And Aversion, Bravo... I couldn't have said it better. If we had more people like Aversion, this board would be a better place

We should have a "read this before posting in coolsites" thread mentioning Aversions above comments along with the main sites that seem to keep showing up that stays at the top! Like the Boardroom guidelines.

I've never seen either of these sites - 2A or xf but they
both kinda feel like they could be from the control panel
of Star Trek or any other sci-fi production.

Both have their merits, I prefer xeofreestyle composition
a little more 'open' - too many rectangles/squares in 2A it
gets restricting and looks more corporate; supplies less intrigue
to look further.

:I should say at this point I haven't gone into great detail
to follow all links and discover all the content, my views
are based on what I'm presented with at first glance:

I do find the font contained in xf hard to read and the overall design suffers from a 'over designed' feel.
Where 2a has very legible text and a lot 'cleaner' in it's design, but hey?! why not introduce some more color.


Sorry for the comparison, i know we are supposed to be talking about xf but I thought I'd jump in with some fresh comments.
