agggghhhhhh, i hate penalties!! They should just make them keep playing like in tennis finals, or keep going into extra time taking a player off each side every 5 minutes until only the goalies are left kicking the ball up and down the pitch at each other until one of them falls asleep.

ireland deserved to win that 100%. as for penalties they can go either way. its all about luck.

no way, Spain have been playing amazingly and were by far the better team. If they werent cursed by the off-side rule they would have had 3 goals, just like all the other matches that they have played in the tornament.
Have you been watching them?

i'm just watching it now and it was a very even match, the irish were so unlucky not to have converted that penalty rebound, the goal was wide open!
i don't get what you mean that spain were cursed by the off-side rule, none of the off-side calls i've seen have been wrong, they didn't deserve to score those opportuities!

Yes, Sweden v Senegal: a wonderful game -- good thing the game was worth watching live after waking up so early!! Damn shame about the Ireland team, I was watching it with my Irish friend at Scruffy Murphy's and the guys ub the pub were so disapointed. But as they say..."we will be back, this time better and meaner! (and better penatly-kickers)".

I'd have to disagree with you there, Spain were the better team by far for the first 80 minutes, then they went defensive and Ireland were better from then on. Both teams were poor in the shootout.
