Which one was the good performance? The one where we dicked the favourites and were unlucky not win by at least two goals, or the one where we beat Denmark 3-0 without getting out of first gear.
The second half against Sweden has been our only bad performance.
Brazil have been scoring freely so far, but we've only conceded one goal in 4 games. And you know what they say - offences win games, defences win tournaments.
It's already wriiten in the stars - Brazil are going to be stifled out of the World Cup by a man called 'Rio'. Just imagine the tabloid headlines ...

i agree just look at the opponents brazil have had. they were not very good. at least we had the group of death and survived it! now we can beat them all. and al our games have been good.... we are still in it!

a) There was contact by Pochettino. Not much, but he did touch Owen - and at that level he should know better
b) MORE IMPORTANTLY - It's perfectly legitimate to dive against the Argentines. They freely admit that they see it as a part of the game and that they will fall over in the box if they think they can gain an advantage from it.
Think of how many times they have used 'gamesmanship' (i.e. cheating) against us. The handball in '86, Simeone's agonising injury from that assault by Beckham in '98, [calm down Ben] the mysteriously disallowed Campbell header ...
And remember, should Brazil beat us, they cheated. I don't know how yet, but whenever anyone beats England in the World Cup, they have inevitably cheated !!! Hey - it couldn't possibly be that we weren't good enough.

England played well as a team against Denmark, the other three matches they were far from a world cup winning team. Against Sweden, Nigeria and Argentina they were ordinary. Yes, I know they beat Argentina, but the Argies played poorly so it didn't take a great performance from England to beat them.
I agree with you about the defence though, that has been the one consistant part of England's game, Ferdinand must be close to player of the tournament at the moment.

I don't think because Argentina dive it makes ok for their opponents, it only lowers the standing of the game worldwide.
