I'm surprised that Romario got in there - he's never struck me as being one of the greats. I'd maybe go for someone like Gerd Muller - his scoring record for West Germany was amazing. What does anyone else think ?

controversy aside... korea got awesome fans even the Azzuri's coach trapattoni said they are the biggest problem

the korean team is probably the fittest team in world cup and they did terrorised italy's defense in the second half..

most of all the koreans played with brain (hiddink) and hearts (their determination and supporting fans)

so yeah apart from totti's send-off, they really did play brilliantly so i think they deserved to win...

The hero of the Korean Republic’s upset victory over Italy, Ahn Jung-hwan, is no longer welcome at Perugia, where he has played for the past two seasons.

"That gentleman will never set foot in Perugia again," the Italian club’s chairman Luciano Gaucci told sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Ahn, who missed a penalty in the fifth minute of the round of 16 clash, was hailed as a national hero when he headed home the golden goal winner in the 116th minute.

Not surprisingly, Italians saw things very differently, including the locals in Perugia, in central Italy, where Ahn has been viewed as an under-achiever during his stay at the club.

"He was a phenomenon only when he played against Italy. I am a nationalist and I regard such behaviour not only as an affront to Italian pride but also an offence to a country which two years ago opened its doors to him," Gaucci was quoted as saying.

"I have no intention of paying a salary to someone who has ruined Italian soccer."
    WHAT THE F**K IS THAT???

"...offence to a country which two years ago opened its doors to him" ??? do they expect him to play ***** and let the italians win??? isn't that the same as their accusation of FIFA fixing the match?? if they have a grudge don't take it on the individual players, they're only doing their best for their team... ok maybe Italians aren't cheaters but they sure are ONE HELL OF A SORE LOSER!!!

it's just emotions running high, they don't mean it. It's natural after something like this.

sorry aversion but that's not a good enough excuse to tolerate stupidity like that... fired someone coz he played his best for his country? they shouldn't have hired players outside their own country in the 1st place if they're not prepared for something like this...

have they actually fired him or is he just letting off steam?

if they have fired him that's pretty lame, but he'll get a job anywhere in the world now, probably a bunch of other italian club lining up to hire him.

But a Perugia spokesman insisted the club had decided to release Ahn even before the World Cup tie.
he's played badly in italy and i think this whole thing is pretty pathetic but i wouldn't be surprised if the above was true.

i think all this conspiracy against the italians is bs too, totti deserved to be sent off in my opinion, he already had a yellow card against him and he makes a obvious dive in the box in extra time, i thought the ref did a good job.

    here's fifa's reaction

Q: What's the difference between England and a tea bag?

A: The tea bag stays in the cup longer.

Hey, you can keep your Ronaldo and Ronaldinho - because we've got Ronatkinson. He'll mkae sure we set our stall out early doors, put a few reducers in, then join the wide awake club, earn a spotters badge and put a man on the back stick. And that's before Owen has sold them any lollypops !!

The Brazilians won't know what hit 'em.
