i don't whether i'm more excited about the world cup or flash mx and php!
anyway, i've added a lab section to my site where you can find flash, php and mysql opensource. downloads include:
==> a full access control management system for flash mx - features: register users,log-in,user activation, change password, get lost password, modify profile, admin mail list function, secure access authorisation. also includes full plug-in check - flash 6/mx, wmp, realplayer, qt, cookies, etc. and more!
==> the flash mime emailer that members on the the flashkit boards requested.
==> redirect script based on mysql and php - logs 'hits' out of your site
==> general flash/php/mysql mailing list function
==> plug-in detection scripts
goto: http://www.bigjolt.com/lab/
you'll need a log-in combination where username=user and password=pass
there's more coming as i develop my new site. stay tuned
have fun

jolt,
Those scripts rock, man. Kudos on the Access Manager - good work

thanks a lot for the rap sem - i like that sort of feedback!
let me know on suggested improvements and features, etc.
there will be more coming with the user stuff - it'll act as the user portion for a flash based forum. the forum will be built with php pulling data from mysql and parsing it as xml. that's a bit later though.
next module will be a user driven linksetter. (had this idea for a while and now it's time to do it) and then a content management system.
all this will be built into my site. i'm offering all the modules as opensource. so what you see is what you get - sort of. well that's the theory anyway.
check back soon for more on the user link thingo/widget.

Hi Henry,
at the end of the day...
if you wanted to redo those same things in F5, would you consider this a big deal or a minor change. Are there any MX features that you would consider essential for integrating with a php backend?

hi musicman
if i had to redo them in f5, it probably wouldn't be such a big deal.
already f5 was a long way from f4. f5 added a level of complex interactivity that would have taken much longer to program in f4.
mx adds again but not in a huge leap like the previous release.
what is cool though is the loadVars object, the other new objects available and the event model. setInterval () is a lot of fun - that saves a lot of hassle.
for db stuff though loadVars is great. what do you reckon?

Do you have a second?
I have been having issues with my PHP mailform , either with the script or the Flash file.
You really look as though you know your stuff! Can you please see what is wrong with mine????

The link above is the files, and a test file that I was messing with. If you can spare a moment it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
