OK 2 sites in 2 days, I have come across with basically the same style, I'll think you'll see what I mean...
http://www.popupgirl.com (from Belgium, click thru and see the resume/folio)
    http://www.nagafuji.com/ (from Japan?)

exactly the same right? but that ain't bad, in fact I like it - makes a change from all those 'boxy' style pop-up windows that've been going around for the last 6 months or so, it has a nice feel to iit I think.

and not in the same style but how can make heads or tails out of this --- http://www.insomnious.com/ (very interesting Flash)

(a cool splash page at least) http://www.frozencreative.com.ua/

    also here's a blast... http://www.shift.jp.org/ <<- ENJOY

(OK maybe not spectacular, but what do you think? cool?)

    Cool

Yeah, Well the start for this "boxy" trend i think is when //The Designers Republic// started making the cover art and in-game art for the WipEout, WipEout 2097 and Wip3out.(psx-games). The latest cover for Wip3out was the first boxy design i saw.

But i think its fun with these trends, It shows how ppl really inspire ppl. As long as no-one does rip-offs i think its ok

the first boxy site I ever saw was k10k I think (and I didn't realise it was my first until someone pointed it out to me).

now regarding your sig man, it's pretty cool! I used to be into the breakdancin' craze during the 80's. It's where I first learnt to miss out the 'g's in words supposedly endin' in 'ing', like breakin' and bombin'...

    ya dig?

This one is my favorite. And I don't care if it's boxy. The day I can accomplish that, I'll include a signature here:-)

Eddiedesigns! One Word. WOW! What would you charge to design something of the same caliber? I could be wasting my time trying to learn flash.

vplasgirl excuse me, I don't understand you last question? are you referring to my own work? if so thank you very much I'm flattered .

err, are you asking how much I would charge to design a site of the same caliber as Jaguar? wooah, they're a big company lol. or did you mean my own website? please excuse my misunderstanding here

I myself am only 25% (if that) as 'good' with Flash as I'd like to be... really over the last 2 years I haven't spent as much time on exercising it as I'd have liked. I seem to have stuck with Photoshop mainly. hopefully that'll change, but there is some of the fiercest competition out there for sure. oh well at least I'm enthusiastic and ambitious :b

    Cool sites.

One thing i'd like to point out is that...
I have seen so many sites that the text was just too small or hard to read.
Also navigation needs to be simple.

One of the sites you listed was so dark it was hard to find the navigation.

I believe in large text and easy navigation first,next... content, and then graphics.

I think some times designers forget about that sort of stuff.

It's like a song that has good vocals, meaning, and music to back it up.

It flows from beginning to end.

    Eddie,

You got it right on both counts. I like the work you do, and I was wondering what you would charge to do something similar (yours or Jaguar's, they're both good).

I need a creative and high quality intro page with navigation buttons. I don't plan to do the entire Web site in flash, since there's no real need.

The only reason I'm considering flash for the intro is that I want to create a high-quality, professional image for this client.

This is probably not the right forum to discuss price, so please feel free to respond to danielle@belec.ca

Thanks... I enjoy most of all your creativity!

Well, The navigation issue, As i see it, It totally depends of what kind of site we´re talking about, Commercial sites should have(must have) good and simple navigation. On the otherhand, A lot of online-playgrounds are sometimes very hard to navigate, The reason is that the designer gets to do whatever he feels like, And it often turn out to be "design first-navigation later" and that ok with me. but as i said, The "common user" of the internet wouldnt understand **** about how to get to the next section on a playground or similar, So, As I see it, Good navigation is only a must when you create commercial site for companies etc.

I hope this maked sense (kinda fired up on coffee).
