    I can't animate, infact, I can't even trace right!!!

But hey, if you say you join this forum to meet other animators, must be because you're an animator aswell, right?
can we see your work, maybe I can learn something from it!

Actually, if you surf the boards for a bit, or click through to some members' homepages, and you'll see some amazing animations done in Flash.

I'll reserve the fliphead judgement for another time.

I've got a Flash series on the go : http://www.angelfire.com/super/cvo/

Chapter 1 is on my site but the art and animation isn't the best.

    I've improved though :

Chapter 2 release : mmmmm, July 30th? So am I still a bubble or flip head?

Why how nice of you to ask....and such decorum....

Nah, I'm with MegaToon. I suck like a bucket full of leeches.

I'd love for you to show us your genius in action, though. Or was this thread a "hit and run"?

Yes, I trace. Herein is a TOTAL CONFESSION:

Painstakingly, I dug with a plastic spoon 400 meters from a crusty, stinking sewer to the basement cement wall of the Disney Studios vault using only a fish-light and Boy Scout compass to guide my path. I picked away at the barrier for 3 weeks with my pocket nail file until I had pierced the wall!!

I carved out an opening 1/2 inch in diameter, then, using a plumbing snake with chewing gum attached to the end, I fished across the vault of sacred animation flipsheets until I snagged dozens upon dozens of original works---meticulously siphoning them through the tiny hole my nail file had availed me---!

With a bag full of crumpled paper goods, I sealed the hole with a compound of rubber cement and sawdust, after first tossing a number of tiny sewer frogs, worms and snails through the crevace to mask the odor of my intrusion.

Return to my secret animation studio (ironically positioned so that I can see the Disney Studios sign out my sunlit window--the stone carving of Grumpy stare accusingly at my locale...almost as it HE KNOWS...) I unfurled my hardwon booty and re-constructed several classic animation scenes: Dumbo flying though the air with Pocahontas; Pinocchio and his conscience--Tinkerbell; The AristoLady and the Hound; The Little Beauty and Mulan of the Apes; Sleeping White being poisoned by 101 Aladdins!!! With a home-made light box I traced over the master's ORIGINAL lines with a carpenter's pencil, so they would scan in high contrast into my computer!!!

Well that mucked up the whole shebang!!

So anyhow...how do YOU do it?

if you wanted to speak to decent animators this probably wasn't the best way to do it, how about asking who is working professionally as an animator - that might bring you more joy and less sarcasm...

also the animation section at were-here might be a better bet too as thats more narrowly defined for animation

You really think so? I always found the designation "Character Animation" too limiting - where do I go if I am an abstract animator?

But I digress. There are a ton of good animation boards on the Internet, not limited to Flashfilmmaker.com, the AWN boards, etc. etc.

Have you had a chance to check out any of the member's artwork yet?
