Movie Clip stops playing--randomly

I have a game that I am almost done with in Flash, but I have a very random bug that I cannot figure out. You can test the game at http://www.visitsaltlake.com/visitor.../ski-game.html

The bug is this: sometimes when the skier gets hit, the hit movie stays on, instead of cycling back to the regular skier.
The skier has an embedded MC that is set up to hit test on various objects on the root level, and if it does hit to go to a certain frame in the skier MC called "ouch". Ouch plays for 3 frames and then has a frame action of gotoAndplay("left");
with left being a frame where the skier looks like he is skiing left. Somehow within those 3 frames it sticks--but only randomly. I cannot replicate it on command.
Does anybody have any ideas about how to fix this?
