I've noticed on flash websites that bitmap portraits are not square boxes, but that they are the outline of the portrait. In other words, no background. Whenever I import a photo from Photoshop, I get a background, even if it is transparent. Does anyone know how to take the background off of a bitmap, or know what I'm talking about?
Thanks!

Save a interlanced PNG other then BMP in photoshop,
Flash work pretty well with PNG it's even better then BMP.

Draw an outline around your portrait on the layer above your portrait, fill it - delete the lines or select all and convert lines to fills to save some memory and then mask your portrait.

Thank you so much Tublu!! You are now my hero. Curious about one thing though. When I play my .swf file, some of the bitmaps are pixelated. Will it do this after I publish it?
Thanks again!
