Is it possible to backwards engineer projector files, into .fla files?
    Does some handy app exist?

I have an .exe whose source files I have lost, and i put a lot of work into that sucker and don't won't to do it again unless I really have to.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated

    Wink

Fla is a closed file format. Only macromedia can produce the format. They are not sharing that info. So the answer is no. The best you can do is rape the file of its assets. Regards, Bill

"Rape the file of its assets" - how can I do that then?

(Thanks for replying, by the way)

Thanks for the reply, but call me Mr Stupid -as I couldn't find anything that helped me.

Could you be a bit more specific?

Like Pope said: there's no way to get a .FLA from an SWF. It's rumored it can be, but I haven't seen anything working yet.

However, you can extract some materials used within it like sounds and bitmaps using SWF- Browser (http://swifftools.com)

Since you've only got your projector left, you should first extract the .SWF from the projector. You can use Swifty Xena for that (http://www.buraks.com/swifty/xena.html)

Then take the resulting SWF thru SWF-Browser, and you'll be able to get at least some of your materials back.

    Thanks,
    Edwin
