I have created a movie in flash that is a combination of many different movie loops. The final piece is a movie with no beginning and no end, that is supposed to go on for hours.
How can I get this onto a DVD disk? Is it possible to fade out the end so that it does not crop off abruptly? What software can I use?
    All suggestions are greatly appreciated!

    Hi
I'd recommend posting this is the Standalone and Applications board - you might get a better response there.

But just off the top of my head, I'd say that you could create a standalone Flash movie and burn it, incorporating the start/finish ideas which you mentioned.

Apologies if this advice is off the mark. The guys in the other forum I mentioned probably know a lot more about this than me.

I'm not 100% sure since I never made a dvd (yet) but there are dvd burners out now and I would think that you would be able to burn your movie on a dvd disk. And if you wouldn't be able to put a flash file on a disk, im sure you can export it to a movie file or something.... like I said I never tried.

Its not as simple as burning a DVD and popping it into your player.
Take a look at this page.

Is there any advantage to burning a DVD as opposed to a standard CD? If you're sending out a Flash projector file, I don't see the point in putting it on a DVD and making that a requirement for your viewers.

This combined with the additional work & problems. (see site link above, cheers for that)

hurricaneone, true, but i think she wants to play it on a normal standard DVD home player too? so she needs the DVD standards.
I suggest you export the movie as a quicktime in flash, afterwards convert it to the mpeg2-format required for DVD players.
When you work on an Mac you can have a program called
    "DVD Studio Pro"
    have a look overhere: http://www.apple.com/dvdstudiopro/

the other Apple solution is iDVD, literly drag 'n drop your QuickTime movie in the prog.

hey A, that's why we are here, to help eachother ...

about the burner (apple likes to call it "superdrive") ...
depends on what machine you are working, don't know much about external dvd-writers, do you work on a G4 tower? maybe it's possible to have a built-in version ...
I just work on a simple TiBook with only a dvdplayer in it.
i suggest you have a look at their site
http://www.apple.com / or because you are in NYC, have a walk to SoHo, their newest store is open since a week or so ... (it's in the old Post office-building)
check it out and keep us informed !

    goodluck

If you search the Art and Anime board there is a thread in there that goes into detial on how to do this using two methods.

I did the serach for you:

    http://board.flashkit.com/board/show...threadid=47156

Instead of burning to VCD you will burn to DVD or you could just leave it as a VCD if you want.
