    hello,
    I have a really simple problem with mx so far, I cannot use transparencies or the alfa channel, it is not where it was in flash 5 and I wasted 30 min looking for it, before I gave up and went back to flash 5, so that i could complete what i was doing. Any ideas where it is, what pallet.

    click on your button/symbol/graphic/whatever.... check out the properties panel (by default it's resting at the bottom) you'll see Color: and then a drop down menu. alfa is there for you to tweak. for shapes, lines and stuff it's located in the color mixer.
