Hmmm, on the Swishzone main page there is a link to a demo someone created, the exact url is http://www.swishzone.com/demos4.html

This shows spinning gears as a background. The demo goes on to say something to the effect that the entire thing was done without flash.

If Swish doesn't support graphics, then how in the world did the guy do it?(flash??)

I'm not griping, but lets not represent some really cool things if the product won't handle it.

My apologies if this was done with a WINGDING font sized up to 150 or something like that.

I love the product, and am sure will love more enhancements such as graphics.

I tried to do something like that. I forgot what font I use but it's within Swish. The first part with the countdown is done in flash but after that sequence it's all in Swish.

    Hi jimjoyner71,

Yes, that demo was sent to us by a customer, and he assured us he did it all in Swish. We can only take him at his word, and assume the shape was part of a font.

We are not trying to mislead anyone! The program doesn't support vector art (yet) and we don't claim that it does.

    Cheers, David.

Ok I'am here to clarify all the questions
I have got via email and in this post
    reguarding my "sensational" swish demo.

In the near future I will do another demo
swi and swf file on how to do it but in
the mean time let me say again that I did
it totally within swish. So don't assume
just cause you haven't figured it out that
    it is impossible.

I do not have flash on the machine I created
the demo on. The gears are not a vector
they are a font. A similar font can be found
    at http://dingbats.i-us.com and is called
    "button button AOE".

The reason I say similar is because I edited
the font to reset the center of the gear
and star font charatcers used in my demo
so when they rotate they rotate around
    a center point.

So when you see a star rolling its just
1 character, set to use transform to
start off left of screen rotate 1000 degrees
and move 1000 pixels to the right.
    That gives the roll effect.

The gears are again just a gear looking letter from with the font. Using just
the 1 character in 400 point I used
trnasform to rotate it. Using a duplicate
of it, set to rotate the opposite way,
and slighly overlaped gives the gear effect.

What is missed by most people is I also
    change the background colour ...
This is just another character of the font.
Its a rectangle that covers the entire screen
I set it to 999 point and using transfrom
fade it in over everything else on screen.
So on the last blue screen of my demo the blue part is 1 character of my font.
A very big character set to blue in colour.

    Hope that clarifies it.

No I won't be releasing my font just yet.
If someone else has the time to build a
better font please do. When I get the time
I will finish my font and release it.
My font will have all the basic vector
shapes so alot is possible without
waiting for a new version of SWiSH.

    cheers

Before I break out the font editor, does anyone have a symbols inclusive font that is already center-of-gravity corrected? I'm seeing how the demo was done, but the slight offset on the symbols is a little frustrating! 8-)
