So what is the differance between Flash Communication Server MX and ColdFusion?
    Are they two differant products?
Do you have to have both to do Flash remoting?
I'm just a confused ColdFusion developer that hasn't used Flash since version4.0 and I need a little direction.

    Thanks,
    Drew Harris

Hey - check the "flashcom vs socket" thread

    For your questions -

No you don't need both. With both you are able to make a remoting connection from flashcom to cf. Without flashcom, you would make remoting connections directly to cf from flash.

The power in remoting and flashcom is that instead of receiving data in name/value pairs or xml, you receive native actionscript, most often in the form of a resultSet object.

They are 2 very different products. There is another thread here, something like "what is it?!!!!", I tried to explain as best I could what it is.
