I've been abit less active as usual but it was time spent finishing my website. Since I last posted i've finished all the seperate info sections, added sound and created an asp based mailer. This project has been about 6 months in the making and nearly 1000 hours worth of work. I couldn't have done it without your input. you have all helped so much in so many ways. After i get some feed back i'm gonna do some final spell checkin', create a splash page. and go live!!! There are many elements that have changed in response to your input however there are also new elements (such as sound) that i will need some advice on. (i'm not much of a sound guru). so here it is everyone.

Looks good, well done. Some text is difficult to read... but what can you do?

A 1000 hours is a lot of time spent on one web site!

Wow! great site! Very visually stimulating without causing seizures at the same time

everything ran very smooth on my system, looked great as well.

it took me just a second to find the menu behind the 'digital self' text, but it became obvious as soon as i moved the mouse.

    Great job!

    [small] system : 1.4ghz Athlon, 380sdram, 16mb video, 1024x768 res.

The music off button might want to be clearer.

once a menu has loaded it disapears and re-apears.. why?

That text in the background is a bit distracting

and the site seems a bit empty.. dunno why

the modules reapearing seems to be an error in my action script, i'll fix it. and the site is designed for 800x600 res so thats why it seens empty. thanxs for the input. keep it coming

Very nice looking site. Its odd that someone with a programming background has done something so visual. Although the style isn't anything new is it (ala attik design in the early 90's)

My main concern is that I couldn't find the music off button - infact Ive closed the window and the mexican guitar riff is still going!!!!! Very annoying!!!!

It is also stuffed full of functional simulacra and pseudo-informative looking dials and indictors. The scroll arrows have to be pressed about 50 times to read a short piece of text squashed into a small box, while the rest of the screen is blank.

Unfortunately I don't think your "dream" will come true either. I think broadband will make it easier for designers to do what they want without needing programming knowledge (look at film/tv).

I've been trying to work out the music thing. but I can't figure out what's wrong. I'm working on it. mx_kid. The text is more neccecary than aesthetic. I'ts boring to me too but someone pursuing me as a developer would be interested in the info as well as the eye candy.Jake. the "simulacra" was semi intentional. I wanted to give the design a sence of purpose beyound simply content deliver. I do however understand that the actuall content can tend to get lost in exploration, I suppose that is the sacrifice i made with this site. as far as the scroll buttons go I'll try to add a bar to make reading the content easier but i think i'm to far in the design process to redo the layout, however, it is somthing important to consider with future work. Thanx. One more thing, broadband will create more options for designers indeed but that will not change the fact that computers speak in 1's and 0's and we will always need translators. That's my job

Yeh but I think you could get the same info from not as many words. They wont read it all. Most clients visit a site, go to the portfolio then leave. You seem to have a lot to say

I've fixed the loading sequence so the modules dont flash after they load. MX, your right It is a littlew word heavy however I'm already facing the issue of to mush nonfunctional content and I believe paraphrasing may lead to more empty or ambigous space. Any suggestions?
