Next thing to know is that the company is owned by MAJOR companies such as MCI WorldCom which means to you and me that they have the FINANCIAL BACKING T to pull something like this off.
Are you sure thats a good thing
I'd be interested to know how this relates in anyway to actionscript

    Hi catbert303,
you're right, let's go back to AS:)
I've been, like many other here, playing with your slidey blocks. Very cool & addictive, bravo:)!!
    I have a question: is it tile-based?
fell free to not reveal anything:)

    Thanks

Yep the grid is tile based (2D array)
when a move is made the game creates a collection of arrays that contain things like the column number that a block is removed from and the number of tiles that have should be removed, it the uses the information from these arrays to update the grid. I'd let you know more about how it work but I'm at work at the moment and don't have a copy of flash (let alone the fla file) infront of me
i'll eventually be updating it with some proper graphics for a kids site i've been working on

well thanks to you:) this is more info than i hoped for!.. I saw that amazing site "outsideofsociety" that holds lots of info on tile-based apps. Very impressive. I haven't done much in the game part of AS.. more "oueb sites dezign" :). But on my spare time i'm studying those.

thanks again Catbert and keep on the amazing work!

the stuff on outsideofsociety is amazing isn't it I only wish i'd read his tutorials before I started. at the moment i'm trying to do a version of tetris, it's proving a lot more of a headache than I expected
