Thread: [Resolved] FLV file size

What is with the file size of the flv files? Are they being encoded into multiple bitrates? There are too few options to be missing anything or so it would seem. The 2 minute file at 128k should not be 7 megs. The swf files are just over 1 meg and so should the flv be. Anyone who works with this that could let me know it would be very helpfull in this. I have the pro version.

    Hi.
FLV files use uncompressed audio. They are not for playing. They are for importing into the Flash MX authoring tool. When you export a swf from Flash you will then be able to set the audio bitrate to the appropriate setting for the mp3 export (the video portion will remain the same).

Is there a way to turn the audio compression on when outputing FLV's. I recently purchased the Flix Pro Engine and am desperate for this feature. The whole point is to produce playable FLV's with the smallest file size possible. Is this an upcoming feature?

    Thanks.

That's great news. Can you give me a ballpark on availability. Very soon, 6 months, a year? I know it's a sensitive question.

    Thanks.

Sorry, but I can't give you a date.
I can only say that we're working on it.
