My first impressions are that it is a very clean, corporate feeling web site.

I think the strong points of the site are:

1.) Quick loading and easy to navigate.
2.) Seems that it will work well for just about any screen resolution, platform/browser.. etc.
3.) Very Clean and proffessional look and feel. Everything is easy to read and you dont require the user to work hard to find your content.
4.) use of color, I like the earth tones and the orange, easy on the eye.

I think the weak points are as follows (some are just personal preference)

1.) The repeating K in the background. I like that the white space is broken up but I dont like the K repeating, seems to be a bit much, maybe a lighter and larger k, with fewer repeats? or something different altother.. just a thought.

2.) There isnt much of a wow factor or visual impact.. I am not sure if this is necessary, and this could be accomplished on you first page(that you said you dont have yet). I know you arent finished, but be cool for something simple and unexpected to be integrated into the layout from time to time. Maybe something in flash to kick the creativity of the site up a notch..

Don't put your "links" link before your portfolio link..Most users migrate from left to right while navigating horizontal links (of course)..You are offering them the chance to leave your site before they see what you want them to..

I must agree on those 2, make an bigger k, give it some alpha and some bevel effects and it should look much better.
Maybe you can also make a drop shadow effect from your square where all the content goes in. get what i mean ??
