I have a button that I want to play a sound, about four seconds, and then have it go to a http link. I am having trouble getting the sound to play beyond a second. Once the button is clicked on it wants to go straight to the link. Any idesa on how to get the sound to play through and then go to the link?

The child movie sounds great. I'm such a beginner and the examples don't provide enough information on how to place the child movie in a case such as this. Here is an example of what I have so far, but for some reason the sound does not come on.

Any comments on why it's not working?

When you click on the blue button a voice should sound in complete sentence and then your sent to a new link.

    Windstrom, try this.

I looked at your movie and if all you want is a sound to play (fully) when you click on the button. You just load in the sound and click the play button so that it does not play at first. Then in your button action use play sound.

Wait just tried added the sound to the button via the new item on the tabs.

Look on the button up or button down tab under the actions there is a place for sounds. Just put your sound there and it will work as you needed. I just tried it and it does work. Entire sound plays

Thanks. After the sound plays, I would like it to go automatically to a link associated with that button. It seems to either play the sound through or go to the link without playing the sound.

I uploaded an example that works now. I'm not totally sure how I got it to work though. my main objective was to apply this to The educational Community project file that is applying it to an abc learning game:

    http://members.cox.net/windstorm_media/abc10.html

    http://members.cox.net/windstorm_media/ABC10.movie

The idea would be to click on the "L", the sound plays and then it goes to the next page for the student to do automatically.

Now, when I add the same features to the abc game (to make the "L" button play the saound, then go to the next page) as that of the "test" page, the abc game in 3DFA crashes the 3DFA program.

damn you've been busy! The ABC stuff is looking GREAT!!!!!

Crashing is bad. Don'y know what to tell you there.
I'd do the checking and moving on in Actions that get called myself

button runs actions that check if correct. if correct call Action that LOAD movies the next stage. Don't try to do it all inside the button.

    I figured it out:

    http://ww2.chandler.k12.az.us/jacobs...y/k1/abc1.html

I placed a child movie, as you suggested, in one of the buttons and had it play it on the "down button". I then had to place in the action section of the main window a "stop movie".
