I'm designing a new personal portfolio for myself. Its a flash front end using XML for data. PHP and MySQL are used for the portfolio sections. I've only been working on this for about 6 hours (mostly doing all the actionscripting, PHP, MySQL stuff), so its very preliminary.

    Dn. Portfolio.

I like the simplicity of it. Very nice and neat... ONe thing though. The scroll bar on the side is very hard to see. I came up with it on accident

    I very dig it.
The look's got something minimally attractive in it.

The minimalist web project isn't mine, I just give it credit and publicity by throwing a link in my footer

ok, the art section images are placed on a PHP page that is in sync with a mysql database.

i dont know what is the problem but i simply couldnt get your site on my desktop what really freaked me out... because i simply have to see the latest DN works.

Well my desktop specs: WinXP 1024x768 IE6 which probably is broken (that might be the problem) 350mhz DSL flash6player - the only problems i had experienced so far are that i cant open popups...

but your site worked perfectly fine on my laptop, similar specs but 8x6 display and modem

    nice portfolio
i am currently designing a new portfolio for my site as well. i hope i can finish it by the end of this week

    cu around

Yeah, HTML can be used for a lot of things. As I've stressed before many times, just because there isn't any big animations doesn't mean that flash isn't a good choice for this. I'm going for functionality and simplicity, as well as having something using dynamic content. The flash is very subtle as to not draw attention away from what is important, which is the artwork itself.
