    OMG, was: posting problems

This thread is here to replace the "posting problems" thread. Somehow it totally disappeared - I swear I didn't accidentally delete it a few minutes ago.

A lot of people are having problems with logging in and not being able to post. This issue has been posed on the vB site, and I've written their support alias. Here are a couple vB.com threads on the topic:

    Had to have been DP.

I just posted on their boards. Finally got in touch with Byron so I could get posting privs over there.

Did anyone see my solution before the posting problems thread disappeared?!

Basically, remove all cookies in the browser, close the browser, remove the cookies that may still be in C:\windows\cookies\ (manually), open the browser, go to flashkit.com/board, click on user cp, login (if the login loops you back as it used to, sorry, you can stop reading), go to edit options, and set the automatically log-in when you return to site option to yes (the browse board with cookies did not have any impact of me; if the automatic option is not turned on, i get the looping thing). If this works, enjoy.

    Tell me if it works.

No prob....since Im using my computer at home, Im not worried about other people using my login...family members...not gonna do anything. If youre working on a public computer though, you'll probably have to play around with it...I won't bother....but clearing ALL cookies (with the cookies dir in windows) certainly clears the options and gives you a fresh start....for those of you who tried my solution and failed, play around with....thats what I did yesterday, and got the solution that worked for me (with IE6, NN7 AND Opera 6).

    Good luck.....

    Forgot to mention one thing:

After my adventures with IE, I finally got in, and after I changed the Auto-login option to yes, it worked in all my browsers...just find a browser that would let you into usercp....thats all you need.

Well, this isn't my normal name.

I created it till I figure out my problem....

Gonna go test Netscape, so hold on...

    Virgo,

Try Opera. I have it for web site testing purposes and I think it partially before I solved the problem....it has a feature called 'remove new cookies on exit' or something similar in the options...it gets rid of cookies when you close the browser...

    Try it.

    Mikhail

P.S. If you're desperate, and can trust me, give me the u/p info for your other membership. Ill fix it and you'll change the password.
