hmm you mean "sketching"?
here's what I'd do:
on your Down state, just have your plain down state. on the "over" state, make a new symbol of a movie. in this movie have like a pencil symbol going over a motion path sketching out a picture, and have the picture make itself draw itself or something... frame by frame animation would work well in this case. then, on the down state have whatever you want. just be sure to put the movie symbol thingee in the Over state, and it should work!
hope this helped!

me thinks
here i go,
1. make a new layer in the button
2. on the second layer in the over section, scribble over the button
3. on the same layer and section, make 5 or 10 or how many u want consecutive keyframes.
4. on the first of the scribbled keyframes, use the eraser to erase a small amount of the scribble at its beginning or end, on the second keyframe, erase a little more than the first. Repeat this until the last frame is completely erased.
5. select all of the keyframes and rightclick, reverse.
I hope i explained it right. If you have problems, i think there is a tutorial that has something to do with lasers. It uses the same concept. Good Luck!
