I have my own small web design business...nothing much though. I have been running it for about 6 or 7 months now and iv'e got 6 clients. Currently im working on a web site for some record company in the stats. I charge around $35.00/h canadian.

I was just wondering how many web designers we had on flash kit. And how much business a website genorates. Because as you can probly tell im looking to be a webdesigner and i will be finishing up my businesses page today and I am hopeing to get lots of busness off it. Also i wanted to know what my compitition is. And as for my asking how much everyone made so far I was wondering how long it would take me to save up 5K from doing the web designing busness

been in business about a month, one client satisfied so far.. didn't get paid alot but right now it's portfolio buliding time i think... just waiting for the 'ok' on another project which should bring in a bit more cash, still nothing spectacular...

Although i was offered a p/t web designer job, but they wanted to pay me £5ph!!!! So I sadly declined the offer :)

i'm part of a company that just started up. good stream of work. but we do straight up graphic design as well as web design.

before that i mostly freelanced and did a little part time work here and there. paid my way through the university doing it though. room, board and tuition.

realize that having a website does not drive you business. initially you will drive business through self-promotion and solicitation. then, the business will drive more business. word of mouth is the best.
your website is just a facilitator.

started the company BEAT CREATIVE with my partners vincent and harry in january this year and have been struggling quite a bit, i must say. our recent project EQ:IQ was chosen as featured site/september(one of the happiest days in my life)in FK and has won 4 other awards since then ... now, we have a couple of major projects in our hands so i've got to say this here

I have started this company with only a couple clients. I mostly do freelance right know for I have not got the site together. I am to busy with a secret project right now (To be unvaild in the near future LOL!). Lets just say I made enough from these clients. I have also had a partime design job that didn't pay enough. Hopefully I get the e-Idyas site up soon.
