    Hi Mell,
The illustration (the black and white line art) took me about 3 or 4 hours. The colouring took me for 2 or 3 hours.

    nayades,
very cool char! I likes alot! Great pencil work! I usually mess with the levels in photoshop to clean it up a bit to make it look white like that.

Lauradot, Great images! I love the dynamic poses you do! Great colors too!
I guess Id better post so I dont get my ass kiked! heres a character I was playin with tonite:

    (edit)
I thought Id put a work in progress here cause I might not have enough patience to finish it. My first full illustration done totally in painter (no scanned sketch) not even close to done:
    Mel

WOW EVERYONE!!! I LOVE IT ALL!!!

mel, EXCELLENT job on the painter! at first I thought it was done in a 3D program!

gb-WOW. also very amazing. Wish I could sit down for 3 hours and just focus on 1 chracter/picture!

cool pixely dudes. I like the anikin skywalker dude someone posted ealier.. hehe (I think that was anikin.. OR HIS EVIL BROTHER!! lol sorry...)

I'm going to be vigorously studying for finals this weekend, but I plan on making some photoshoppy things... lol perhaps finish the first episode of The Dog Catcher; I'll post a link to it sometime... I had a thread going on it about a week or 2 ago, but noone replied. But i've moved a lot on it so far; I plan to color it in w/ photoshop sometime... hehe

other than that, I've also made a few new characters, perhaps for some comic series. Indeed, in fact, for comic series. I might post a preview of my new website, since there's a character in charge for each one of the pages.. muwaahaha!

great work everyone, it's all really fun to look at and inspirational!

...wait!! one question: has anyone seen Darby Conley's work? he does Get Fuzzy, a comic for the newspapers... I love his style too!

Lauradot: I love the poses you put on your characters. Do you have a partciular source for poses or do you just think them up?

Sorry if this has been asked before but I've been away from this forum for a while...

Ack, mad problems whenever I've tried to post to the forum - cannot find server = mortal enemy.

So there was a bit of feedback with that post, but i've forgotten it. Oh well, probably no wisdom lost.

mel - hey, you really dont need any feedback, hope you managed on finishing it. whatever it is.

Morths - great! its really hard to fit detail into that amount of space, and to know what to miss out. i like the second one especially.

xup - i'd have those socks if they were longer .. (actually, i have some pink and black. but anyway.) Just that her hands (i know, i know i really shouldnt be crit'ing hands)should look like they could cover her face - they seem a little small. But easily fixed.

anti-shock - sure, its a little insane. but very dynamic. need more. draw.

argonauta - i cant look at the picture directly while posting, but i do remember they were good. nice pose on one of them, and nice hand on the other one. [jealous]

Okay! and now on to me! (since when did i start using exclamation marks - mel, this is all your fault.)

Those two particular ones are based off stuff - the stretching one is from magazine photo (my clothes creases need work), but I stopped looking at it after i got the rough work on the sweater done. You can tell from my original drawing - she's about twice as long in the waist, i did some major adjustment in PS - and the fact my hands are definatly NOT copied. arg.

The second (i just noticed what horrible colouring she has. ugh, the skin.) comes from my recent interest in spiderman pics and perspective in them, i cant exactly claim one image as inspiration, but its been gradually affecting me over time. must be the (deadly) combination of comics and New York!

Anyway, i've written too much. might post a sketch later if i can be bothered to plug my scanner in. (bet this at the top of the page. AGAIN. )

I love your style! Very nice pencil work and great poses!

    Lauradot,
I am always screamin aint I?! Im gonna try and stop! (hehehehhe just dont kik my ace... )

Well I finished the dark crystal char...I know I could do more with it but I think Im done..(no exclamations)

    Peece,
    Mel
