i don't get a "bar, disco" feel from the site, more of a cold business feel. it takes too long for everything to manifest, if a site is loaded i want to see it, not wait for some transitions that take half a minute.

why do sites have to be all like this? it seems no one wants to be original. the site would be perfect, if 2advanced didn't exist. i mean: 3 text boxes at the bottom, buttons with a bar which underlines them when they are chosen, and i guess that the sections will have cool images with text by its side...

i'm not saying its bad. in fact is very good, and your client will be highly satisfied. but, personally i prefer to break up the rules the 'big ones' stablish, and try to create my own standard design.

sorry if i sound too harsh, but for the sake of design i must sound so

forgive my english.... and don't take it personally

    hmm, 2A, that's a pitty... I don't look at it as a 2A inspired site.

Why do the 3 textboxes make it look like 2A? or the easy to use nav? It's not like 2A invented them, tho.
That is just a good use of space and adds to the functionality.
Remember, this is 'design for the people' not 'design for other designers' . And that's where functionality comes in.

too bad most of you people can't see the difference between those two anymore.

    Hi Sence,

I think reason he said that is because Ur site don have any images(cafe, bar, disco) on it, after U put some images, i think this site sure work, I gree grey is a little bit cool for cafe, bar and disco, I suggest U add in some warm colour. To me cool colour like blue and grey(for this kind of site) is mean not so welcome, compare with other hot colour like Red and orange, reason i said that because normally when we think about cafe, bar and disco should be a hot place. This just a suggestions only.

Sorry sense, but 2a made a rule and everything that looks alike its kinda sux for us since we saw it that much. the minute i came in your site i thaught about 2a. it can be you did it for functionallity or i dont know what but still gonna be a lookalike 2a.

Step out of your designworld for a while. don't get brainwashed by
all that '2a sh*t is bad' and 'all inspired sux'.

For example take a car. every car has four wheels > because this
adds to functionality. So now you're saying only Ford has a good
car (they were first) and all others suck because they are lookalikes. hmm, strange thoughts you guys have.

that's exactly waht we are doing.. getting out of our 'designworld' and have a try with innnovation! it's the only way to avoid the brainwash and influence of sites such as 2advanced.. (which personally don't like). however i know they have talent, because its their idea, they have breed it themselves.

and make no mistake... flash sites' "wheels" are buttons, animations, sound, and content... and fortunately for us there are millions of ways of combining them, resulting in unique, original sites.

however, your site will work dude!

Didn't you know that posting this site here would bring up the 2advanced comments? LOL!

I can understand why they are all busting your chops though, you do have a similar layout (so what) but what brings it home is the rollover effects on the links.

And one last thing - and this is to everybody - can we please stop using little arrows everywhere? I wish I had a nickel for every little arrow on the sites in this forum. LOL!

    site

    howdy

this site does certainly have a 2advanced feel i think, but really so what?

We can have the designs for the clients and then the designs we do for ourselves or artists or what ever that allow us to go 'out there'

i mean what client is going to pay (and feed us) if we deliver stuff where they have to go "is that my site? why does it have a giraffe with a drill in a bathtub?"

thet 2 advanced stuff led the way in new 3D feel sites and someone else will break it next month and lots of new 'inspired' sites will pop up for a while - it's the nature of the biz
You can't have everything...where would you put it?

Well put. this is what I'm hammering on all week.

this is 'design for the people'

And one thing I chose this layout not because it might look like 2a,
but simply while I was playing around with it this way it fitted in
    every resolution 800*600, 1024*768 and 1280*1024. that's why I kept it.
Well, after doing this I saw there are others who use the same layout
and one of them happens to be 2a. So what can I say. Well done you guys. Good functional design.

Oh, do you think 2a came up with that 3D feel. I think Apple used it alot earlier in their OS.

The site looks great! Agreed, it didn't really strike me with originality, but that doesn't matter. There is a whole lot of crap outthere that has literally been 'copied and pasted',but not like this at all. Seems to me that by creating something like this you will eventually develop your own style, perhaps based on other 'rolemodel-sites'. Anyway the work is very clean and nicely done. Like it!

well it romove the rollover effect like on 2a that thingy under the buttons and it wouldent look anything like 2a.

I like the site and the collors are kinda cool, fack/**** those idiots that say its 2a inspired.
Just work on it alittle more and the site will be excelent.

let's see... i asked not to take my critic personally and you haven't done so.. so i'll have to explain myself again.

your site (remedy one) is original.. your latest projects (flyers, typedesign) are original... this site (bazaar one) isn't. just that. i repeat for the third time that your site will work, and matches all the keypoints a business site must have.

and i'm not critizising the table placement, nor the size of the movie...that enables the movie to fit in all resolutions (that's not 2a invention fortunately), but the way you lay out the elements within the movie.

in other words, like the design... but would hev really oved it if it had been more original. that's all. good work.

    oh... and f*** you Jeay..

forgot to say.. if you had a border line just as the one between teh top and middle section, it would stan up from the greyish background.

    hi,

I've updated the site with graphics and music.

But I'm experiencing some troubles with the slider.
I've added the music (is a seperate .swf) and the movement
of the slider tends to be very slow. I run a P3 733 with 256 Ram.

Could you check and see if it runs smooth. please inform me on system spec.

    thanks
