rather simple question.. can the flash player be told to stop downloading a jpg (using the loadMovie() method) before its finnished downloading? I remember flash running into problems when this sort of thing was done. Are these bugs fixed now?
Basically, i want the player to stop downloading the jpg if the file is larger than 10k. It's for a forum where users can specify a url for a jpg for thier profile. Are there any other things that need to be taken into consideration, apart from file size, while alowing users to do this kind of thing?
Another option would be to create my own character pictures and then let the user select one. The selection would then be stored as a number in the DB.
