Hello,
Say you download a trippy font and put it in your movie, if someone views it that doesnt have that font installed do they get a default font? If so, is there a solution? What if I put in the font text and then break it apart. Would that work?

When you use a font in Flash it will add the Font characters needed to the swf ensuring the movie will display correctly on all machines.

However if you use variable text fields you must specify that font outlines are required (in variables properties).

The reason I asked is because I mailed myself a fla I was working on and the font was different. Is it that the font doesnt get converted until you export it to swf?

That's right. Flash will use the font installed on the machine when dealing with FLA's. It is only the swf that embeds the font.
