Cutting Down the XML Tree

okay, fiddling with XML and I've made a tree. When I view the XML document with my webbrowser, the tree displays itself in expanded form. Is there a way I can have it initially display itself in collapsed form?

That is just the way that Internet Explorer displays raw XML.

If you want to make the tree look nice you can format it in XSL and get it to display although you may lose your ability to expand/contract the tree.
