alpha tween doesn't work on nested clip
I have a movie with a nested dynamic text movie clip moving changing and alpha.
It works fine from its own timeline, but when I run the movie in test mode or published the alpha does not change (the movement still works, but is somewhat jerky).
The FLA file is huge, so posting it is a problem. I am trying now to replicate the problem with a simpler project. But maybe someone is familiar with the issue and can give me a hint?

An additional clue
In the project, the text is tweened on top of a movie clip with a fairly complex graphic (exported as a jpeg). Could this explain why the alpha tween works from the sub-clip's timeline (with no underlying graphic) but not in the compiled movie?
I'm using Flash MX on a Mac TiBook running 10.2.3

it works well if u change the dynamic text to embed all characters. some font problems with flash. the pros would know better but i dun think there's anyway round this.
