I dont like saying it, but thats a pretty horrible website. its really messy, theres no consistency to the font/size/colour of the text which makes it look amatuerish. That sidebar does nothing for the site, i would suggest getting rid of it completely.

Anyways, go to a site like http://webmonkey.com and read and article on design. You need to start from the ground up. Some basic ideas are:

Color Scheme
Consistent Fonts
Bitmap or Smooth Fonts
Consistent Interface
