    Help with launching a file

I am pretty new to flash action scripting. I am hoping someone with expertise could help me out with current problem.
I am putting a pdf file link to the flash site. And I would like the actionscript to launch the pdf file so that viewers can see the document through the acrobat reader.

Can someone tell me the right action script to execute the external file?

    Thx in advance.

but pdf is in the same root folder.
is there a way of avoiding using http? something like //folder/xxx.pdf instead of http://www.xxx.com/xxx.pdf?

I got another question since you know ur stuff :

I would like to add acrobat reader installer included into the cd, In case a viewer does not have the reader installed. But what actionscript will launch the outside program so it will execute it? same geturl command? or something else?

    Thx again

I'm not at all familiar with CD stuff. But I would guess that you'd have to use the fscommand with "exec", the latter being in a subfolder as explained here:
