Can't link to Flashkit? Asked to remove link?

I was just asked to remove my Flashkit generated banner from my site Swiftdev for no apparent reason.
There have been no copyright violations. We do not condone any "warez" or pirating of software or any other silly stuff like that. We don't sell anything with a flashkit logo. We dont make any money on the site. We just simply wanted to show our appreciation for all the help Flashkit and it's members have provided. Thats it, period. We even copied and pasted the text for their link right from their "Link to Us" page!

Just curious to know why? Anyone else "banned" from linking to Flashkit? Or maybe it's personnal? I've been a member for 2 years here, never had any problems. Never any profanity, always acted accordingly. Helped as many people as I could many times. My number of posts would reflect that, or maybe I'm a "post whore"!
Who knows. Just wonder if anyone else has been "Black listed"!

Any comments would be great. Positive, negative, moderated or administrative, all are welcome.

By the way, Swiftdev is a site devoted to swift and is not in direct competition with flashkit. SWIFT 3D ONLY!

    Thanks to all that comment.

    This link here: http://swiftdev.com/links.php?op=viewlink&cid=3 ?

I don't see the problem. Which mod or admin has asked you to remove the link?

Mike, you were claiming that we'd partnered with you.

Subway, it came from above me.

Ok, partnered in this case was a figure of speech. To blatantly ask to just remove the link and not correct the text above it is just plain silly.
The site is still in the development stages and not all of the "original" portal text has been modifed.

Give me a break.. That's a pretty lame reason.
But I do appreciate your effort!

Ok, the text has been modifed. It was on my ta-do list. Now it reads "Swiftdev Supports"

Would this be a violation of Flashkits obvious strict rules for links?

Why is it pretty lame? We have partners who pay to keep FK alive. We have to maintain the integrity of that program.

Who'd your message come from? Dave or Mitch?

It came for Dave. And belive me, I did not intend to take away from the paying advertisers or partners of Flashkit. It was an over looked mistake in text that could and would have been corrected if it was mentioned. But Dave did not mention that. The copy of his email is below:

    Mike
Please take down the Flashkit logo immediately.
    Thanks
    Dave

I think it was a little "vague" dont you? No reason why. If this is the reason, then why wouldn't he have stated that in the email? It would have been corrected immediately. I do not want to step on any toes or cause any legal problems for anyone. If being a partner is paying for Flashkits bills, then where do I sign up?

    Thanks,

    Mike

I am not trying to stir up a hornets nest or anything JS, just wondering why. I dont want to argue or offend anyone or even cut-down Flashkit. I wouldn't be where I'm at today if not for FK, honestly. Ihaved learned so much from this place and adore it to death and will be back for more info and to help as much as I can. But I don't think what has happened is right.

I dont know what else to say! It's hard to defend yourself when you don't even know the real reason why I can not display a simple 3kb image of flashkit.

Ok, I'm 110% sure it was an honest misunderstanding. Dave wasn't aware that the logo was one we supply for links.

There's absolutely no problem with using that icon, it's just the claim that you're endorsed by FK/Jupitermedia, that was a problem.

The FK partner program stuff is handled by Dave. If you reply to that message he'll give you the details.

Ok Fredi, does that qualify me to have the text "Swiftdev Partners" on my site? Probably not. If it does, I will get the credit card and pay.
    It most likely does not.

    Thanks for the link though!

it seems like it was a simple misunderstanding which could have been cleared up in five minutes by emailing john or david. I don't see why your first reaction, no matter how "frustrated, disappointed, confused", was to post this in the FK forums instead of seeking clarification directly.

They promised me that once the site makes it, I'd get rich. They said it was a deal of a lifetime.

I'm paid, for the webmaster stuff.
