    How difficult is this? (Scrolling text boxes, from a dbase, in Flash)

    Lenny (or rather, Kurt Noble's crew) does this on his front page:

    http://www.lennykravitz.com

    I've got news articles pulled from a SQL Server database. Looks like Kravitz's menu is under another graphic on a semi-transparent layer.

    Any tutorials on this you could recommend? Thanks very much in advance.

    I don't have the link handy (fr.where I'm at) but I believe that Macromedia's tutorial section has an article on *XML in Flash*

    I used it to dynamically call hefty img's from the server as a slide show (saves 'fat' onLoad)... should be able to be used simalarily for any files ... brings them to a predefined target on your clip.
    BetterYet source::
    Try ThisPlace...scroll down about mid-page...

    I'd sure like to hear from some more advanced flashers myself on this subj.

    Addend:: I don't think 'Lenny's' using any compl. dBase calls there, looks more like an ext. swf that plays at that target layer-nested under his main content (which is semi transp'.)
    I don't see dynamic content ... just some links

    relandr...thanks and I'm sorry for being delayed in responding to you.

    One question: hopefully there's no trickery involved, but apparently the news releases are indeed being pulled from a database. Would the ext. file need to pull from a .php file in order to display these news releases?
