optimize bitmaps the best possible way....

I have been working with 3D and Flash MX the best I knew until I discovered Flashkit.com. I got too far into this project and I wonder what would be the best way to complete it...
I did some animation in After Effects faking 3D with 2D layers. After that I decided to give the movement some extra 3d quality by importing new graphics from Infini-D 3D design prog and adding some rotation to the elements. These graphics replaced the original 3d so I could create some rotation loops to the objects. Since I need to keep a version of each frame of the loop this calls for the need of breaking apart objects but this is not enough for bringing the flash file size to respectable levels. What is the best way to optimize these bitmap graphics to work on Flash so I can get the lowest possible Flash size ? Should I optimize them in something like Image ready or Fireworks before importing them into Flash ?

Any help will be greatly appreciated !!

    Thanks

    Daniel
