i go swimming and come back to see my sprite raped!!! heh, i dont mind really... ill be doing it all myself but that will be good to refer to, so thanks i suppose
ooopps - Well I did the antilais bit! What is antilaising? Well it basically the art of softening the edges so that the pixels don't show quite so much and look better on contrasting backgrounds. Many people like the black outline look and often don't bother with the antilaising but, it does look nicer with contrasting backgrounds! For example somthing with just a black outline will appear distorted on a black background!
Anyway I include the example for you to examin on how it works, it's quite straight forward, just find a color in between the black edge and the ajoining pixel and put it in between and along the edge of the black! I started to get a bit bored and concentrated mainly on the left side!!!
See my first example:
This image shows the difference on black and white backgrounds, the top set of images are the before and the bottom one are with the antilaising done! See the difference?

I've been doing pixel art for about a month properly, but I used to do pixel art when I made my websites so I have really kinda been doing it for about a year, and the original artwork is actually mbenneys!!! So credit to him, my image is on page [1]!
Oh and some more, I actually used a crappy webcam for mine and not a scanner, if you add a little contrast you can still get an ok line! Also if you don't have that, get some graph paper and color the squares in where the lines are, then copy it into an image (quite difficult, but yes, I did that before)!
ok, so its gone much better than i had hoped for this pixel lark isnt as hard as it looks! its not quite as i would like it, the folds in the clothes look a little 'off' and i should have probably used more contrasting colours in the grey/dark blue. but it took me 2 hours and i think ill call it a day there for today... maybe ill improve it when we get to the animation stage... anywho, here it is for your masturbatorial wonderment
Dithering does not look good, or I don't think so anyway, dithering was only nessarsary if you are restricted in the number of colors in the pallete to give the effect of more colors!!!!
