Flash Based Juggling Simulator ( the play with balls title didn't cut it eh?)

    Hi,

Would appreciate some testing and your thoughts on my new juggling simulator:

    http://www.smallsquare.co.uk

Think I may have overcooked it but current feedback so far looks good.

    Main concerns:
    1) CPU battering – have I gone too far in the wrong direction?
    2) Have done little Mac testing (sorry) – please tell me it works
    3) Jerky mouse action – but only on public access machine with “Ready to Surf” so far.
    4) Can you figure it out? - If you get stuck/lost please tell me where.

    Minor concerns
1)Using device fonts here is a good idea isn’t it?
2)Need better sound effects and a good tune maybe? – Any suggestions welcome
    3) Lacks a little attitude and atmosphere
    4) The screen resolution redirect JavaScript (is that dodgy? Going Back certainly is!)

Cheers, any feedback even if it’s your basic PC spec and a score out of 10 for consistent animation speeds would be great.

lol. well let me expand. i was doing my homework when i decided to browse and then i got sucked into your game. it is definately very addicting and the tutorial is great. i like the auto juggle so you can just sit and watch. (i know, im a dork) the many many options of juggling balls is pretty cool and the dude is neat looking. the user-friendliness of the site is an 8 (1-10) and it is a great game, mindless... yes, but great none the less.

"mindless" ...humm, that's one for me to think about.

Again, thanks for your feedback Soccer it's very much appreciated. Good luck with that homework, and hope you don't have lots of nasty maths to do.

i thought the project was excellently done..... smooth animations, well scripted, good drawings...i would suggest a loop but im not sure exactly what would fit...also you might want to finish up the edges of your menu's and stuff give them some sort of border so they dont look cut off. thats about it right now. great job.

That was great! I really liked the use of the "low" light and the colors of the balls. The controls and interface were spot on as well.

I'm sharing this link with some friends

Impressive! This is how to leverage Flash tech. The tutorial is great, too. I got the hang of juggling 7 balls when I was through.

the way flash was meant to be.

Fantastic / Great application you got going on! The usability / functionality / animations, and most of all Interactivity are on point. You have accomplished a lot.

    Nice work.

haven't read all the previous posts here, but i'll just give you my oppinion.

i love it, it is great. how did you come up with this idea?

as a lover of minimalism and siplicity i would recommend you to make the controls and the settings more functional. the most important controls have to appear at the first glimpse, the less important things (lights, speed) should be in the background somewhere. well, it's just my oppinion.

i think someone should put this site to the coolsite-section.

Wow I just tried the juggling simulator.. it was SOOO smooth and fluid and nice graphics Very impressive.. I'm in the making of a "summer games" game, where you compete with athletes.. I'm very new to actionscript, but not to programming, so it'll take a while to get things started.. but your program inspired me to do a cool game

Well, again, your juggler is very cool

I'm trying this on P4 2.4ghz though.. no slowdowns here..

I really don't think I can juggle in real life after trying this.. hehe I have a hard time juggling on the computer..

Keep up the good work and hope to see more cool flash-programs from you soon
