Hey all, I've finally settled on a design for my site that I'm gonna hang on to for awhile! You can check it out over at http://ianmarsh.net , I'd love to hear your opinions of it. I'm also searching around flashkit for cool personal sites to affiliate with.

It does not strike me as an portfolio/personal site.
Looks more like a CS Clan homesite.
A tad too dry and too much war inspiried.

Thank you both for your replies. This really is more of a personal site more than anything else. I have a collage of WWII scenes at the top because all of my friends and I are big WWII buffs. I'm not a war hungry person. By dry do you mean the colors used? Or did you mean it looked too plain?

Hey....I remember you from deviantart when you posted those calpoly library shots. What happened to Cal Poly for you?

Nice site here. I think the war image is pretty cool. It's definately on the minimalistic side, but that's not a bad thing at all. In a lot of cases, minimal sites are much nicer. Definately serves it's purpose well here.

btw....good taste in movies, music and tv

I like it ...but (there's always a but) lokking through your archive I prefered versions 7 & 9, like the clean crisp look. But I do like the header image of the site very topical.

Thanks for the comments guys. I've started adding skins to the site. I've done it in previous versions and people seemed to have enjoyed being able to customize how the site looks. As for Cal Poly, I only spent my freshman year there. I've moved back to San Diego, and have been attending a community college. I'm hoping to transfer to UCSD this fall.

Nice addition with the skins. You might want to let the user know that those bottom buttons change the skins though. A lot of people might overlook them.

I know a guy going to grossmont. I think he's graduating now though. My roommates are both from SD. One from El Cajon, the other from La Mesa. Small world....

Some great bands come out of SD. If you can....you should go see Flogging Molly at 4th and B. I think they're playing around April 12th or something like that. They're an awesome band to see live and 4th & B is a pretty cool venue.....especially if you're 21.

    Take it easy...

    awesome work

I love the site. I like the skins but yes you need to make them more noticble i didn't noticed til i read all the posts and someone said something about the skins. I LOVE THE WAR IMAGE. What better time than now. Screw anyone that disagrees with it as well. These people sit in the freedom of there homes surfing the internet and posting in a flashkit forum because of these wars. If you are going to protest violence and gore how about starting here where people are shot and killed daily and nothing good comes of it. But thats ok? - dm

    what war image?

Your site looks great, I love the simplicity of it. I didn't find the skin buttons because I simply don't have time to look (just going through website in order to get some knownledge in designs).
But... everyone is talking about some war image... and I wonder WHERE?! On top? All I see there is an image of waves... nice image though I like it... kind of makes everything nice and peacefull...

    Anyways, good job man!

Thanks for the support Divine! I put the skin buttons at the top on the right, I guessed they would be easier for people to find there. Also, I'm not sute what you mean by BIG buttons Boggy. Are you talking about how each topic under 411 is a link?
