reflective plane = headaches

for the past 6 hours i have been trying to create a reflective plane.
i have a box on a plane, i want the plane to reflect the box. i know that it has something to do with the material editor (forgot to mention that i am a newbie). if you guys have any suggestions on how i can go about in completing this task, pleeeeease help!!!!
