The ground that Gov. Ventura has broken

    http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.j...toryID=2558193

A professional wrestler who fought his way to victory in local assembly elections under his ring name and wearing his trademark mask has vowed the mask will not leave his face even after he enters the staid halls of Japanese politics.

"This is my face," the wrestler -- known as "The Great Sasuke" -- was quoted by the Nikkan Sports newspaper as saying of his black and white full-face mask with bright scarlet streaks and golden wings by the eye holes.

Catching opponents on the back foot to take one of 10 assembly seats, the wrestler said he now hopes to demonstrate his "superabundant power" outside of the ring as well as in it.
Wouldn't it be great to see a remake of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington where instead of filibustering, headlocks and drop-kicks are the path to justice?

BTW - I would vote for a masked luchador running for any position in the U.S. government over any of the current candidates.

Sad thing is, I would trust a man in a mask as much (if not more) than traditional politicians. At least you can't say they're plain-faced liars.

I'd love for a politician that would basically headlock his way to a better position.

instead of working on their poker faces whilst they lie, the politicians would have to actually work on something meaningful... like doing something that's beneficial to others instead of themselves or their own race and gender.

There's nothing more amusing than politicians jumping over desks to have a go at each other. Great stuff.

Now that's what I call political humour.

Imagine the spike in C-SPAN's ratings if the U.S. congress was handled in this way.

What would Daschle's "theme music" be?
