    disappearing fonts!

Looking for help please. Working on a mac (maybe got nothing to do with this). When I try to publish a movie I get the following message, and no type!

"some characters could not be converted to outlines because an appropriate outline font is not available. These characters will disappear in the Flash Player file. The character that failed will look jagged if you choose Antialias Text in the View menu."

    thanks, Stircastle

Not all fonts are created equal.
some font types are not outlined.
    or hard to read.
These situations wreak havoc when you choose
a font type for dynamic/imput text where
flash cannot read the actual fonts.

It can also cause troubles if you are using a font
type then using device fonts because once again
in order to know the character associations the fonts
    must be recognizeable to flash.

In player device fonts cannot be read from the flash player
when an swf is viewed in an html document the browser pics
    up the fonts.

Ergo stick to standard device fonts for device fonts.
(sans, serif, typerwriter) and use embed fonts elsewhere.
If your embedded font's are not working as they should.
it's highly likely that they do not have outlines hence
    can't be read.
In that case you can go the extreme>export fonts as bitmaps
Although your file size will be much larger and your fonts
    will not appear as crisp.

    re.export fonts as bitmaps

hey there Frets, thanks for the reply, but I am not sure what you mean; I do not know how to export fonts as bitmaps. If you can clarify this it would be great, by the way the problem is on the machines at my college, my machine at home is fine

    thanks

    ack to many swf programs.

try converting your fonts to shapes.

    or another idea.
Use an image editor for your fonts and import.
your text body as a gif/png.

I forgot flash abandoned export text as bitmap
    a long time ago.
