First attempt at something with more than two shapes
This is my first attempt at something that has more than a square in it. It atleast gives me hope that one day I might get this thing.

Thanks Vatcher, it occured to me that unless I just start trying to make stuff I could spend my whole life wishing I was better at Swift, so I just thought of something simple to make and tried to make it. Making simple shapes like this starts to make you see how you can make more complex shapes with a little more time and effort.

geek medic... dude, now that's cool work indeed.
in fact, it sorta looks like the picture I used in my mod profile in the Mod Squad area here at FK...
Lovely work mang... and you said it's one of your first!? wow... keep up the good work.

Thanks Gerbik. Now your pic is cool! I hadn't seen it yet. That is very nice. I've got to learn how to get that realistic look like yours though..... How do you make something out of focus in the background?

swift 3d doesn't have depth of field (blurry background)..but you can bring your image into photoshop and add that blur effect
more pricy 3d programs have built in depth of field

no, no... that's a real photo!
I just found it similar. nothing more.
for depth, I'd suggest rendering to bitmap, and then adding depth via selective usage of blur.

Well now I'm dissapointed Gerbick, I just knew that was you work
Thanks for the additional thoughts from you and Vatcher both as well.

Nice medic...Is swift the only thing you used to create that?

Yes infantry, I only used Swift. It was really just my first attempt at something with multiple primitives that had to be assembled.

First, have you tried the tutorial in the program? It is pretty good. As for websites, you could go to Pope De Flash , or Swift 3D , or Kirupa , or you could of course search on Flashkit for Swift Tutorials and there are many great ones here. This is only a few of the many places to get good help. I'm sure others here can provide a more exhaustive list. Good Luck, there are lots of great places to go for help, and many people are willing to lend a hand here.

Just a quick question, I created an object in Swift how can I import it into Flash MX?

You export the object from Swift as a .swf, and then you import it into your flash movie as an MC.

The problem is it doesn't save in SWF format only .t3d format. I have version Swift 3d 3.00

Sorry, my explanation wasn't very good. I meant go to the Preview and Export Editor and render the scene, and then export to the desired format from there.
Maybe this screen shot will help explain.
