you need a special program, such as fontographer, fontlab, the font creator program, or softy (you can google for them). CorelDraw also lets you export as a font, but its quite limited.

I I figured it would be alot of work. Do you have to have a special program like fontographer to make your own fonts?

you will need a special program to make your own fonts. There are a few shareware progs that can do it.

has links to the shareware programs

ok, that's a nice list but i also did experiment with the other not so familiar programs and found out the only 'real' thing is MM fontographer.

has the clearest interface, works most efficient AND let's you import .eps files wich the others won't!!!

I made a font in CorelDraw, well not a family of fonts. I just exported a logo I had done in to a font (ttf).

Dono what else it can do if it can do the whole alphabet.

will MM Fontographer allow you to make pixel fonts? If so does anybody know what the basic rules are?

What separates pixel fonts from other fonts?
Pixels. you have to fill in specific pixels
    there is no over brush.

You have to work within the range.

Also you'll need to output to a standard type font
    TTF
Bitmap fonts aren't recognized in many programs.
    Hence won't work in them.

    This is really redundant.

Especially when there are only three threads for the day.
and two are on the same subject.

    Thread merged.
