Hey all you Flashmasters, is this possible: to send an email with a swf as the content? (Netscape Messenger) I've seen it done (on a job interview) but I missed the chance to ask how they did it. And I haven't had any luck searching the web!
I get emails all the time that are html with animated gifs; so it seems I should be able to send an html email with an embedded swf. Any how-to/suggestions are much appreciated!

when you send an email with "send as html" or something like that, the email will be viewed as any web page.
just do it like in any other web page...
other solution is to create a web page with a swf movie in it and send it

I've tried this many times for the past week, but no luck yet. If anyone out there has been able to make this work, please post the solution here. (And I need it to work in Netscape.) Thanks!

Remember, unless you know who you're sending the email to you have no guarantee that they have the Flash player. So if they don't won't see anything. So it's safest to use Flash 3 SWF content for this type of delivery, or just provide a URL to link to.....

Thanks, I didn't realize the recipient would need the Flash Player. I haven't gotten this to work yet, anyway. Sending a link is the only working solution so far! (But I'm not giving up yet...)
I also found this for others who are interested in creating html emails (Flash at your own risk!):

Done that !
Embedding SWF in Email is possible - the same way as embedding images (GIF/JPEG) in HTML email.
Here are a few valuable links. (I have not been able to do this in OE5 however)
Adding ActiveX Controls

Note that the message might get corrupted (reformatted by email program) when forwarded or replied to.
Also this seems not to work on web-based email such as Hotmail etc.
Please share your findings too.
Hopefully we'll find a viable solution.

Will flash for food.
I do it all the time
I have several signatures that I use at work that I have made in Flash. Make the content you want to send using Flash,Upload the HTML and swf file to your server. Now view the HTML page using your web browser. In IE, go to tools, mail & news, send page... That will put the HTML page into your email, Now you can send it! Its that easy! Once I am done with my portfolio site you can see some examples along with a tutorial.
