When u import the video, a box will appear asking u for some settings do u have the import audio box checked?
If thats not it tell me what type of video and audio compression r u using.

Yeah I couldnt get the sound either.
The original clip was edited in Imovie and saved as a QT file. It works independently on its own, but when I bring it into MX the sound doesn't work.
I brought it in with all the import qualities on high and the import sound box checked. I just don't get why it's not working.

If the movie plays in QT on your machine, it should work with Flash as well - but you may want to pull out the audio and save it in a .mp3 format that Flash supports like Fraunhoffer.

Also u should consider this, its macromedia recomendations when working with video and Fmx:
Problematic video codecs that can crash mx:
    • Intel Indeo Video
    • SoftDV
    Reccomended:
    • Uncompressed video
    • Sorenson Video 1, 2, and 3
    • Motion JPEG A and B

    Problematic sound codecs:
    • IMA 4:1

    Recomended:
    • Uncompressed audio
    • ALaw 2:1
    • ADPCM
