    help with background picture

    ok guys i need some helps
    i have this disney pirate character with a white bacground
    now i wan to put a background behind the pirate
    dont know, like a forrest or some tropical island already made photograph

    but i dont know how to do it i am using paintshop pro 7 but i guess
    the tecnich should be the same in photoshop too

    help me guys

    ps
    obviously this is just for educational and self learning purposes

    Im not the best at explaining things but I will give this a go.
    I'll be explaining how its done in photoshop but it should be the same in PSP.
    1. Open up your disney character and the photo you want to use as a BG.
    2. Use the magic wand tool and click on the white area in your disney picture, make sure anti-aliasied is turned on and set the tolerance to about 30. It should have selected all of the white area now delete it.
    3. Goto you BG image select>all and copy.
    4. Back into your original disney picture and paste onto a new layer.

    Now all you should have to do is arange the layers so that your disney picture is on top of the BG.

    Hope this may help.

    thanks bk9ine i tried that but for some reason i cant make it work
    if first of all i can select the all white area because the picture is too reaches over the top so i have to do it piece by piece

    still when i delete it i got a yellow background
    and when i paste it the background over it just doesnt work right i must be missing something

    well i ll do a search on the web maybe ill find something thanks for your time bk

    i would just delete the white area. Make it a transparent background. Add a layer underneath the pirate image and then place the background their But that for photoshop dunno about paint shop pro.

    thanks guys i think i figure it out
    it was quite simple all i have to do is to start e new image and select background color to transparent that's it
    jee where is my head ?

    first attempt check it out
