Hour of Flash 2 - Wed 9th July

Ok, due to popular demand, we're holding another Hour of Flash Competition

    What is it?
The hour of flash is a competition that we used to run in the early days of Flashkit. We set a date for the competition (9th July - 20:00 UK time) and at that given date and time, a phrase is given. The contestants then have an hour to make a flash movie / game / presentation on the chosen theme.

Hmmm, sounds interesting, what else do I need to know?
The swf file can be as small or as big as you like (width and height wise), can be animated, static, coded etc The only limits are your imagination. All finished swf files must be less than 100k and must only include graphics and code created in the hour.

    OK, when is it?
    Wednesday July 9th - 20:00 UK time

Nice one, what do I need
Access to the web, a version of Flash (any version) and an email address.

    Okay people, sign up here

Results from hour of flash 1 are available here

Great fun last night Bruce, sorry I missed it, I signed up for the next round, one question though, GMT is +3 in Cairo due to DTS so 8:00 p.m. GMT should have been 11:00 p.m. Cairo Local Time, but you started at 10:00 P.M. ??

and what does the winner get, aside from the humilation of showing his ugly work online

I didn't allow for daylight saving time so its 20:00 UK time.

Currently there are no prizes but I hope to gain more entries next time and if so, I may donate some prizes myself.

    Ai Bruce,

On the website, it says 20:00 UK time, and 16:00 NYC time. But, isn't EST -5? So, wouldn't it be 15:00 NYC time, for all us east coasters?

I might be able to have a go but not 100% sure. What's the latest date to confirm you want in?

Also, I've a $5 certifcate for (nearly) any store in the US if the person with the best entry (from the US) wants it. Not much, but it's not as if I'll be able to use it!

Alright, count me in. Never heard about the last one, but I'm going for this one

Wait, what will be the exact time someone on the eastern coast of North America (EST) will play?

    EST is -5 BST or -4 GMT, so if it's at "9th July - 20:00 UK time" that's 2000BST or 1500EST.
