Do you want to show something when the person has gone over the button, or when the person has actually visited where that button goes?

If the former, then just change the color in the over stage of the button...
    The possibilities are endless.

hmmm...what does the button do? Does it go to another web page?
If so, check out Robert Kendall's Connection system at http://www.wordcircuits.com which gives a way to track which pages have been viewed.
    The possibilities are endless.

Several ways you could do it...

One is to put each button in a 2 frame movie clip, with stop actions on both frames. Add a modified graphic symbol over the button on the second frame. In the first frame's button script, add an action to move this clip to it's second frame, along with any other action you have in there.
