font test?
Good day to you.
I've just finished work on a font and have put together a very wee site around it. I'd appreciate any comments on both the site and the font itself. things that don't work, suggestions or anything that infuriates you etc.

Hey, you can never have too big a type collection.
Thanks in advance,

Love it... I love mini-sites like this, always wanted a chance to make one...
Ah well...
Lovely font, good graphics, like it...
On the preloader might want to delete the bitmap background in flash and set it to transparent so you see the html background ( I got a wierd lookin border )

Hmm i do remember some other ones.... font x-press or something. Oh dear, damn brain.
I suggest you maker a post in the fonts forum as you are likely to get a better response.

Cheers very much for the feedback.
If you're thinking about doing your own set of characters the best thing to do is sketch them out rough on paper or screen then actually construct them in freehand or Illustrator. By the time you've done that you'll know wether you actually want to splash out on a copy of Fontlab or fontographer.
It's a pricey wee bleeder.
Good luck,

Barrie, surely if we have the freehand files and you have the font software and we have a donation then we have a font? Right?

i dont need a software that can make fonts (i can do them in flash) but something that just lets you import certain files and put them on certain keys!

Very nice indeed. Could I ask a few questions. I am new to flash.
1. How did you get the diagonal line effect? Was each line done individually with the line tool?
2. When designing a site like this, do you sit down an draw it all on paper first? What are YOUR steps in doing something like this?
3. I won't bother even asking how you designed the fonts - that's well beyond me at the moment.
