Actually its cool to see a first try and taking risks, i mean for the general idea, not being a basic layout.

Good start, keep it up man.

    thanks.

remember, if you visit my site, give me a bit of critique please. An e-mail would also be appreciated. but, i would like it even more if you were to go around writing my web address on everything. So, if you like what you see (and even if you don't) tell people about my site!

    thanks again

im posting this because posts on message boards are the only way for me to get traffic.... so far (spread the word, coppertop lives!)

not only that, but im going to re-do the site by the end of the year with my new found html skills *muffled guffaw* whatever, i'm trying to make it look better. Any tips/suggestions/ideas/ are greatly appriciated

    a few critiques:
    use spell check. 8)
it's a fun design so you should build more on that... make the cup rattle when you mouse over it or something like that...same with the picture...or is that a window? just something to make the interaction more engaging.
maybe introduce some color? it's pretty bland at this point and sort of depressing...like an office would be. hehe.
i think it's a neat idea and it's fun to open and close the drawers..
the popup windows are somewhat bland. i think part of it has to do with the typeface. maybe use an interesting transition when you press the arrows?
    i dunno.
great start for a first site though!

spell check? Uh oh.. what did screw up?

cup rattling: thats such a great idea! i'm going to do that right away, and i will add sound to the drawers.

picture frame: yes, I added that because originally, it was a blank wall.

pop-up windows: they are supposed to look like sheets of paper, so i should try adding stuff to them i guess, like a paper clip...

aside from that, thanks for your input. did you check out the gallery?

I don't want to give the wrong idea here. This critique is probably not as sophisticated as you would like. The site is original and i like that. But maybe a quick tut on 3 point perspective could help the look of your filing cabinet.

    search for topics like

    3 point perspective drawing
    diminishing lines
    3d drawing

    something like that

I think it would help your drawing alot\

    thanks nate.

I honestly have never heard of the 3 point perspective, but I'll look into it!

also, I'm creating a html version for my site for those who still don't understand the virtues of broadband, so I'll bear that in mind for there as well.
